The 2001 Château Lynch-Bages is a classic Pauillac that has matured beautifully but remains true to its terroir.

This fifth-growth Bordeaux blend (predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot) offers a complex, medium-bodied profile with aromas of ripe dark fruit, cedar, tobacco leaf and earthy spice that have developed gently with age. There’s still vibrant freshness and refined structure, with supple tannins and a persistent finish that shows tertiary notes of brambled fruit, bay leaf and subtle oak.

Elegant rather than opulent, it’s a compelling bottle for lovers of mature claret.
