The 1990 Château Chasse-Spleen is a superb example of mature Médoc, from one of Bordeaux’s great vintages.
Now over 35 years old, it offers the complexity and elegance that only time can bring, with aromas of ripe blackcurrant, plum, cedar, tobacco and earthy sous-bois. On the palate, the once-firm tannins have softened beautifully, revealing a smooth, rounded texture, refreshing acidity and impressive length.
We particularly appreciate its balance between mature Bordeaux character and lingering fruit. A wonderful bottle for lovers of traditionally styled claret, and an ideal match for roast beef, lamb, game or mature cheeses.
