A superb mature Bordeaux from one of Saint-Estèphe’s most respected estates, the 2003 Château Meyney is particularly appealing in magnum format.
The hot 2003 vintage produced a rich, generous wine, and Meyney’s gravelly terroir has helped retain freshness and balance. Expect inviting aromas of ripe blackberry, cassis and plum alongside cedar, spice and subtle earthy notes. The palate is full and supple, with ripe tannins, concentrated dark fruit and a pleasingly persistent finish.
Now drinking beautifully, this is a classic mature Claret and the magnum makes it an excellent choice for a special dinner or celebration.
