The 2003 Château Troplong Mondot a superb example of powerful, opulent Saint-Émilion from a remarkable vintage. A Premier Grand Cru Classé, it combines the richness of Merlot with the structure and character of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

The wine offers enticing aromas of ripe blackberry, plum, cassis and blueberry, complemented by liquorice, dark chocolate, cedar and subtle smoky notes. Full-bodied and generously textured, it has impressive concentration, velvety tannins and a long, persistent finish.

Now beautifully mature, this is a serious, complex Bordeaux to savour with roast beef, lamb or mature cheeses.
