The 2006 Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste as a classic example of mature Pauillac at its best. A Fifth Growth of the 1855 Classification, this Cabernet Sauvignon-dominated wine offers impressive depth and elegance.
The nose shows beautifully evolved blackcurrant, blackberry and violet, complemented by subtle cedar, mint and savoury notes. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, with finely integrated tannins, refreshing acidity and a long, mineral finish.
Now approaching two decades of age, the 2006 is entering a wonderful drinking window, offering the complexity and finesse that makes mature Bordeaux so rewarding.
