This 2016 Gran Reserva from Marqués de Riscal comes in a generous 1.5 L magnum. It showcases the elegance and maturity Rioja lovers seek.
Made from old-vine Tempranillo and supporting varieties grown in Rioja Alavesa, it underwent extended oak ageing and bottle maturation before release.
In the glass, it shows a deep black-cherry hue with violet highlights. The nose offers complexity: balsamic notes, ripe black fruit, cedar, hints of lavender, and fine oak toast.
The palate delivers generous blackcurrant and mulberry fruit, polished but firm tannins, and flavours of mocha, clove, dark chocolate, and orange blossom. A lively acidity supports a long, refined finish and promises further ageing potential.
Ideal for collectors or a show-stopper at a special dinner, this magnum offers immediate enjoyment and cellaring upside. Serve at 16–18 °C and decant for an hour to let its layers open.
