The Vega Sicilia Alión (Ribera del Duero) is a superb modern Spanish wine. It is 100% Tempranillo (Tinto Fino), grown in prime Ribera del Duero terroirs and carefully managed in the Vega Sicilia style.
On the nose, dark fruits—black cherry and blackberry—mix with herby undergrowth and gentle spice. The palate is structured yet polished, with velvety tannins and a poised finish. At 14.5% ABV, it has presence without excess.
Scoring in the mid-90s, this wine can be enjoyed from 2025 or cellared for the next decade. It is well worth acquiring now.
