Produced from an equal blend of Grenache and Syrah— with the Grenache sourced from 100-year-old vines and aged in demi-muids— the 2016 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Fiancée Magnum offers a beautifully expressive profile.
The nose reveals smoky aromas, while the palate unfolds with notes of black olives and ripe black cherries. Full-bodied and velvety, it delivers a rich, creamy texture and a long, lingering finish.
With only 1,000 bottles produced and not made every vintage, this wine is both rare and highly sought after. Under the dynamic leadership of Laetitia and Julien Barrot, Domaine la Barroche shines as one of Châteauneuf-du-Pape’s rising stars. The brother-and-sister team farm 15 hectares in the appellation’s cooler, sandier northern sector, with 12.5 hectares currently in production—home to vines averaging an impressive 65 years of age.
