2009 Chateau Clerc Milon, Pauillac

This 2009 Pauillac offers an impressively refined take for a Fifth Growth from the left bank of Bordeaux.

Deep garnet in the glass, the nose opens with satin-smooth waves of blackcurrant, bramble, cedar and subtle minty freshness. On the palate there’s generous ripe fruit—black cherry, cassis, a hint of dark chocolate and pencil lead—framed by firm, muscular tannins and crisp acidity.

It’s built for the long haul, showing both power and elegance. Now entering its drinking window, it will reward decanting and will continue to evolve for another decade or more. A serious Bordeaux choice for the cellar or a special dinner.
