A superb entry in Bolgheri’s modern era, the 2022 Il Bruciato from Guado al Tasso is a bold, alluring red blend that combines Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, with touches of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
It shows intense ruby-purple colour, ripe dark berries, cassis and black cherry, layered with sweet spice, tobacco, subtle mint or herbaceous notes and fine oak. On the palate it is full-bodied yet well balanced: plush tannins, fresh acidity, persistent finish – fruit-driven now, but with potential to age over the next 5-10 years.
