This is a serious expression from Bodegas Muga in Rioja — 80% Tempranillo with Mazuelo and Graciano — matured 18 months in new French oak. 

In the glass it shows deep ruby-purple hues hinting at its youth and ageing potential. On the nose there’s a thrilling mix of blackberry and black cherry, layered with graphite, cocoa, tobacco leaf, and a wisp of smoke from the oak.The palate is full-bodied, rich and focused — dark fruit richness underpinned by firm yet elegant tannins and bright acidity that keeps it lively. It finishes very long, leaving mineral-stone and spice echoes.

While approachable now, it will really reward cellaring for 7-10 years (and could go much longer) for those patient enough.

In short: bold, refined Rioja with both depth and tension, ideal for high-quality red meat, mature game or simply a contemplative glass on its own.
