Bordeaux

Few wine regions in the world have the history, reputation and diversity of Bordeaux. Situated in south-west France, where the Garonne and Dordogne rivers meet, the region is home to some of the world’s most celebrated wines, from prestigious First Growths to outstanding, great-value wines from lesser-known estates.

Bordeaux is best known for its classic red blends, traditionally based on Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. On the Left Bank, around the Médoc and Graves, Cabernet Sauvignon often takes centre stage, producing structured, elegant wines with excellent ageing potential. On the Right Bank, particularly in Saint-Émilion and Pomerol, Merlot and Cabernet Franc dominate, creating wines that are generally richer, softer and more immediately approachable.

Beyond its famous reds, this amazing and diverse also produces superb dry white wines, particularly from Pessac-Léognan and Graves, alongside the renowned sweet wines of Sauternes and Barsac, where Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon produce intensely flavoured wines with remarkable longevity.

From the prestigious appellations of Pauillac, Margaux and Saint-Émilion to the characterful wines of Médoc, Graves, Entre-Deux-Mers and beyond, Bordeaux offers remarkable variety and something to suit every occasion.

At Casa Martinez Wine Cellars, we have carefully selected our Bordeaux range to showcase the diversity, character and quality of this exceptional region – whether you are looking for a classic vintage to cellar, an elegant bottle for a special occasion, or an excellent-value Bordeaux to enjoy today.
