2022 La Planta 
This Barolo is a pure and classic expression of Piedmont’s noble Nebbiolo, crafted by the historic Prunotto estate in the heart of the region.
It shows a deep garnet-ruby core fading to a ruby rim. The nose is lifted and elegant, with aromas of ripe dark cherry, cranberry, pressed blue flowers and a hint of tobacco leaf – a signature Nebbiolo perfume. The palate is full-bodied yet poised, delivering concentrated flavours of mature cherry and sweet spice, a touch of dark chocolate, firm but polished tannins and a long, mineral-edged finish.
This vintage has impressive ageing potential and benefits from decanting. It pairs beautifully with rich game, braised beef or mature cheeses. For a merchant, it offers both immediate drinking pleasure (with a little air) and strong potential for cellaring, rewarding those with patience.
